Cā;
ARKTEX is a dialect of TEX that includes an extensive TEX macro package
for producing a variety of documents. This consists of the following:
MACROS.TEX[TEX,ARK] contains the top level for the TEX macro package.
*.TEX[TEX,ARK] contains other files referenced by MACROS.TEX[TEX,ARK].
ARKTEX.DMP[1,3] is a version of TEX that has many fonts preloaded.
More extensive documentation is being prepared and will be available late in
January (I hope). Until then, some sparse comments appear with the macros.
To use, say:
.R ARKTEX
\input <your TEX file>
This works just like regular TEX, except that instead of saying \input basic
in your TEX file, you include the following.
\input macros.tex[tex,ark]
You may specify other options following this to get a different style of
document, such as \useninepoint (to have the document print in nine point
type), \usebasicformat (to use the page styles in basic.tex[1,3]).
Footnotes, deferred displays, and deferred notes are all supported by all
styles and formats in ARKTEX. More styles and formats may be added as time
permits.
To get on the mailing list of changes to these macros, mail to ARK.
